As children, Jo and Luis
Mora played in their father’s studio. Rather
than play with toy soldiers or cowboys and Indians, they painted
them. Luis walked the town, always sketching. He loved
history, and painted hundreds of action
scenes with soldiers before his thirteenth birthday. Ultimately,
he painted compassionate compositions of impoverished youth in wealthy
surroundings. Luis' father, Domingo Mora,
was his first art teacher.
